From Boxes to Belonging

Life isn’t always neat and tidy. It can feel like a puzzle with missing pieces—especially for refugees who have had to leave behind homes, loved ones, and dreams.

At GoTEN, we believe God is in the business of putting broken things back together. Jesus told His followers, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart—I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) We hold tightly to that promise as we walk alongside our refugee friends on their journey toward healing and wholeness.

That journey often starts with something simple—a bed, a laptop, a child’s bicycle. Through our partnership with GCU City Serve, we’ve been able to deliver these items and more to refugee families in Phoenix. But something even greater happens when those items are delivered: connection.

When we show up at home to drop off a mattress or a stroller, we're often invited to sit, share a meal, and be part of the family. What started as a delivery turns into a shared story, a shared prayer, and often an invitation to come again.

Accepting meals is challenging when it is given by someone who has so little. But love slows down. It makes space. It receives as well as gives. That’s when friendship begins. That’s when hearts begin to connect.

Thank you, GCU City Serve, for opening the door to so many of these moments. Your gifts are more than physical items—they are seeds of dignity, hope, and transformation.
