Our Beliefs

GoTEN Statement of Faith

GoTEN adopts The Lausanne Covenant (1974) as our doctrinal statement of faith. The summary below highlights its main themes; you can read the full covenant here.

God’s Purpose

We believe in the one eternal God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who created and governs all things and sends His people to serve and witness for His glory.

The Bible

We believe the Old and New Testament Scriptures are divinely inspired, true, and the only infallible rule for faith and life.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the only Savior and mediator between God and humanity. Salvation is by grace through faith in His death and resurrection.

Evangelism

We believe sharing the good news of Jesus is central to the Church’s mission, calling people to repentance, faith, obedience, and life in His community.

Christian Social Responsibility

We believe the gospel transforms people and society. We are called to love our neighbors, seek justice, and oppose oppression in every form.

The Church

We believe the Church is God’s chosen instrument to make Christ known. We pursue unity, love, integrity, and sacrificial service.

Partnership in Mission

We believe world evangelization is the task of the whole Church. We work together across nations, traditions, and agencies to take the whole gospel to the whole world.

Culture & the Gospel

We believe the gospel speaks to every culture—affirming what is good, challenging what is false, and transforming all by God’s truth.

Leadership & Training

We believe in raising servant leaders in every nation and equipping the Church in doctrine, discipleship, evangelism, and service.

Spiritual Conflict

We believe we are in spiritual warfare and must rely on prayer, truth, and the whole armor of God to guard the biblical gospel.

Freedom & Persecution

We believe Christians are called to faithfulness amid suffering and to pray and work for freedom, justice, and peace.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit empowers the Church for witness, renewal, holiness, love, and mission.

The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus will return personally and visibly to consummate salvation and judgment. This hope fuels faithful service until He comes.
