From Here to There

For the last decade, GoTEN has been helping the Church recognize God’s strategic movement of people—He is bringing the nations to us. It has always been our desire to start here before going there. Why not cross the street before crossing the ocean?

The concept of starting here has shaped the journey of many who have served alongside us. Brandon, a GCU student who served as a Class Leader in our English classes, started his journey here and ended up in Tunisia. Maeson G.'s first “mission trip” didn’t take him across the world; it took him across town. As a college student living in Phoenix, Maeson brought his church group to serve with GoTEN during Spring Break. Through that experience, his eyes were lifted and his perspective broadened. God used a local opportunity to awaken a global vision.

Since then, Maeson has taken several small steps across town—and several long plane rides across the ocean—and now sees the value of both here and there. Today, he serves as GoTEN’s Short-Term Trips Coordinator, helping others take similar next steps—whether that means serving among refugees in Phoenix or joining a short-term trip around the world. In his new role, he’ll coordinate both local and global trips, creating opportunities for churches and individuals to engage God’s mission firsthand.

In 2026, Maeson will help facilitate five global trips and several local, experience-based opportunities. Each one offers participants a front-row seat to God’s work among the unreached—whether that’s serving in South Asia, encouraging teams in the Middle East, or coming face-to-face with refugee ministry right here in the Valley.

God continues to answer our 10:02 prayer. We’re thankful for those who are responding to that call—beginning right where they are and following wherever He leads.
