Kids' Ministry Leader
GoTEN is seeking a full-time Kids Ministry Leader with a heart for refugee children and a passion for bringing the hope of the Gospel into the everyday spaces where they live. This role is an opportunity to pioneer and expand a new kind of outreach — one that brings games, friendship, and Bible stories directly into the apartment complexes where Somali, Rohingya, Afghan, Sudanese, and Burmese families live.
Team: Development Team
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Fundraising Required: Yes
Details: Full-Time Fundraised
Currently operating one day a week in a single apartment complex, this program is ready to grow. As the Kids Ministry Leader, you will lead and shape a program that runs Monday through Thursday — one apartment complex per day — creating consistent, Christ-centered environments where refugee children can laugh, learn, and be loved.
This ministry is highly relational and requires strong organizational skills, cultural sensitivity, and a desire to work collaboratively with churches and youth groups who will partner as volunteers. The leader will not only facilitate the program but also engage volunteers in meaningful service and create bridges between refugee families and the broader Christian community.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead Apartment-Based Programs: Facilitate weekly after-school gatherings for refugee children that include games, crafts, snacks, and Bible stories in four local apartment complexes.
- Develop Volunteer Engagement: Recruit and equip volunteers from local churches and youth groups to participate weekly and build lasting relationships with refugee families.
- Model Ministry in Community: Build trust with children and their families through consistent presence, Christlike character, and cross-cultural humility.
- Create Safe and Joyful Spaces: Ensure all activities are age-appropriate, trauma-informed, and grounded in biblical truth while maintaining high standards of child safety and volunteer screening.
- Expand Reach Strategically: Work with the GoTEN team to identify new apartment complexes for future growth and develop a plan to replicate the model.
If you are someone who sees apartment courtyards as mission fields, children as image-bearers with potential, and local churches as vital partners in reaching the unreached — we would love to talk with you. This position requires raising financial support as a full-time ministry staff member with GoTEN.
