Equipping Refugees to Share Hope
When Zaw, a refugee from Myanmar, first joined GoTEN’s refugee program in the U.S., he didn’t expect that his journey would lead him back to his homeland. Zaw had a deep desire to see his people in Myanmar experience the same hope he had found. Through GoTEN’s training, Zaw learned a simple yet powerful method of sharing hope through storytelling.
In the spring of 2016, Zaw traveled with a team of GoTEN staff to visit villages deep in Myanmar. These villages had never heard the message of hope before. But with Zaw as a cultural insider, the message resonated. His understanding of the local customs and his shared history allowed him to connect deeply with the villagers. As he told stories of hope, many responded, and a new group of believers began to form.
What began as one trip has now expanded into ongoing work. Zaw and a few others he trained are now regularly visiting these villages, planting the seeds of hope and truth. GoTEN continues to support them, providing resources and encouragement as they make disciples in this unreached area. Your support of GoTEN helps make this possible—equipping refugees to go back to their home countries and transform villages that once seemed unreachable.
